There is an opinion born in Moriguchi in Muromachi era and a field around Yodogawa, and the Daikon Radish is made the material of "pickles", and Toyotomi Hideyoshi who dropped in at "Moriguchi village" in 1924 acclaims its taste, and it's said that they called "Moriguchi immerse". It was local product of "Moriguchi inn" after that, and you enjoyed widely as "Moriguchi Daikon Radish" in Meiji, but I was declining gradually by decrease in a farmland with development in the town from Taisho to Showa.
The renaissance of "Moriguchi Daikon Radish" and traditional succession
I reproduced its environment by the way to form a furrow including earth in the fence on about 1 m of ground and succeeded in profit because ground suitable for cultivation of "Moriguchi Daikon Radish" was limited. I get much person's cooperation, and improvement of cultivation technique by "Moriguchi Daikon Radish length contest" is studied by the city farmer, and I'm also planning for succession of traditional vegetables by improvement of cultivation method.
